So far Great. It is a comfortable quiet ride with awesome pick up. It is not too big and not too small and the kids have so much room in the back. The DVD player in the headrests is so cool with the cordless headphones. The woodgrain that was installed just makes the car look so rich. Ive had lots of great comments about how great it looks. Mine is white and silver.

I wanted a small-to-mid size SUV at a reasonable price. The Hyundai Santa Fe was perfect. Very comfortable ride. Nice standard features. Lots of power. Enough clearance for the kind of four-wheelin we do...more than enough to get to the trailhead. My only complaint--poor gas mileage.

I love my new Hyundai Santa Fe 2004 ! The overall size and weight of the vehicle is very convenient and comfortable and has a "safe" feeling, and ease in driving. It is exactly what I was shopping for and so far no problems. For my needs, just about perfect. Have not had "service" needs yet so I cannot rate that.

  • Love the car - but now its a beater... - 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe

Well, Ive had the car since brand new and have loved it. I havent been too punctual with the routine maintenance (oil changes, etc.) and the car still has performed well (until recently, but more on that later). I made it to 100k miles on the original clutch - which is a record for me. I didnt even replace the timing belt until 110k miles! The only problem I really have had with it has been a faulty clutch pedal sensor when we bought it - and a crank-shaft position sensor that died just before i replaced the timing belt. That said - recently the Catalytic converter broke and the Exhaust manifold cracked - a $2600 repair - but my son will pay that to buy it from me instead!

My husband and I went looking and test drove a few and with his severe back injuries could not find one that was comfortable for him, until he sat in the Santa Fe, he said this is the one. This is my first suv and I am loving it, roomy and fairly economical. We love it and I like it better than driving his 30+ thousand trans sport van.

  • Sensor Issues - 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe

I got my Santa Fe with 68,000, and after 4 other lemons before that, I figured this car would be my knight in shining armor. So, naturally, the transmission went out 6 months after I bought it. Now a year and half later, it just wouldnt start one day. Long story short, Ive now replaced the Mass Airflow Sensor, the Coolant Temperature Sensor, and low and behold, this morning I went to start it and its running crappy still and trying to die on me, obviously not trustworthy. The mechanics are stumped, and so am I. If this happens to you, the code reads, "Fuel temp sensor", get ready for a domino effect of electrical problems that mechanics wont be able to pinpoint.

its the best looking suv to me out there. i wish it was just a little more quiet when driving, but for the whole package for the price, i cant ask for anything else except for long reliability, which i hope and prays keep up for as long as i have this suv. but i love it all around, especially looks and price.

Bought this SUV intending to use it for my work vehicle. My wife has taken it away from me because it rides and drives so well with lots of creature comforts. For less than $20K after rebate, - we got lots of nice standard features, moonroof, 6/CD. trailer hitch, etc. So far, the vehicle has done great - almost 6K miles. Too bad Hyundai is not building a pick-up truck based on this model. The service/maintenance requirements are pretty reasonable - I took the car in early for the first service - the $125 dealership price was steep but the list of what was done was pretty comprehensive.

  • Go for it - 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe

No question about it. So far this is a great vehicle at an even better price. The finish, trim, and fit are more than what one would look for in a higher priced vehicle.
